The year has begun! Sadly we aren't off to Brentwood until next week. At our first EOP, the Brentwood Buddies ACEOrg went through a few role playing exercises, brainstormed what makes a good tutor, planned out specific goals for the year, and played a fun team-building game. Looking forward to a great year, everyone!!
Back after what seemed like the longest break ever, our ACE Org finally went to Brentwood this week. We got right back in the swing of things this semester with our usual power hour tutoring session. It was really great getting to be with the girls and hearing all about their breaks. Looking forward to a great semester!
The Boys and Girls Club has gotten off to a great start this year! We are a club of 14 girls, and every week we go to Brentwood Academy in East Palo Alto to tutor 2nd grade girls in math, grammar, and reading. We have loved seeing the bonds that have been formed between the girls and watching them play and work together. Grace Fenwick, a junior, says “seeing them improve week after week is one of the most rewarding experiences.” Julia Lodoen chimes in, “the opportunities that we have to make a difference in the lives of these girls is so incredible.” Whether it is playing an intense game of candy land or working quickly through math problems, the girls are always sad to leave. We would like to thank our committed and motivated members who make this club possible. Thanks, you guys!
